This is a fixed three-year term post with a suggested 1 hour per week of voluntary time given.

Main purpose of role:

To act as a governor of Feeling Strong: providing operational oversight of the organisation, jointly setting strategic goals, supporting the Chief Executive Officer, pursuing charitable aims and ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.

Attend and contribute to Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting.
Support the events and fundraising activities of Feeling Strong.
Declare and manage any conflicts of interest which may arise.
Help monitor the performance of the organisation and Chief Executive Officer.
Provide effective oversight in shaping Feeling Strong through the next 2026 - 2029 Strategy, ensuring it has a strong vision, in line with its values, that can be translated into a realistic plan.
Ensure that Feeling Strong policies, procedures and risk register are regularly monitored, updated and comply with OSCR rules and regulations.
Safeguard the reputation of Feeling Strong where necessary and ensure its relationships with key stakeholders are well managed.
By agreement, contribute to any sub-committees or working groups of the Board.
